Did Newhouse ever grind the teeth off at the factory? I know the 21 1/2 doesnt have teeth. My 2 1/2 is nice and all you can see is a faint outline where the teeth once were. Most trappers just snapped/cut them off I would imagine. Any info is appreciated.

The Newhouse #2 1/2 was discontinued about 1930 and Newhouse traps with teeth were discontinued in 1975. I don't believe that Animal Trap Company cut the teeth off of the #2 1/2. It is more likely that a trapper removed the teeth.

OK, Thanks. Im just amazed at how thorough and clean the work was. I would hate to see those jaws after Im done grinding/cutting on them.

Most states and provinces have legislation against teethed traps so trappers cut them so they could keep legally using them.
