I formally remolded/built Kroger stores. There biggest expansion was during the Obama years when food stamps were at there highest levels. Lots of 'free' money for the taking. Was told by an employee in Blytheville,AR. that the food stamp program was the only thing that kept that store going.

Sounds like government welfare for never-ending growth, neither of which is sustainable. Both government welfare and never-ending growth will eventually collapse, probably catastrophically.

The capability for population growth is possible without a great need for immigrants. Outlaw abortion and that would add about 1,000,000 to the population annually.

Sniper, your first comment about government workers is an insult to so many people in so many ways. When this administration gets rid of the government employees who license and inspect over-the-road truckers and trucks; when the USDA stops issuing food recalls because of listeria and E.coli and Salmonella contamination (based on hospitalizations); or when interstate highway bridges start collapsing because inspection aren’t done and repairs made, I hope you remember government workers REALLY did a lot to make your life worth living.

In my humble opinion, I’m afraid the current administration’s approach of get-rid-of-all-the-rules-and-employees-AND-then-figure-out-they-did-valuable-work is the way uninformed politicians act.

Well said, Teacher. Cutting the fat and leaning our government workforce is one thing but gutting or completely shutting sectors down is much different. It’s down right dangerous, let alone costly to re-tool, rehire, re-train, etc. those employees that are eventually needed back after the “get-rid-of-all-the-rules-and-employees-and-then-figure-out-they-did-valuable-work” process is finished. This method is no way to save money.

Your reading comprehension needs work. Maybe if there were ato work requirements for welfare you'd be more correct.

A great example of the people working for the Fed or any government is that during COVID and you were classified as non-essential, should of been the day your position was terminated. Your job was a do nothing job.
