Again I'm going by what I have been reading as I have never trapped a wolverine but from what I have read and seen in videos would be a good idea to set snares in and around your set to catch the wolverine circling around or going past your set.

I think I’ll try that. Wolverine bring a very nice price when you get a good one.

Fishing hole............coastal areas usually have a fair number of fox. You have some snow I think. Do you see tracks? Fox are pretty easy to snare.

I haven't seen any fox, lynx, or wolverine. Plenty of coyote and early November I saw some Ermine, but I think they may have been hit by the other trappers in the area I frequent cause now all I see is hares and coyote.

Of course I haven't been searching for fox either so there may be better places to look than the spots I've seen.

Also speaking of rabbit do you guys find it weird Hare is only trappable under a hunting liscence? I just thought there was no trapping for hares at all at first but actually it's just listed under hunting, which is the only animal you can trap under hunting regulations except for grouse and ptarmigan.

I wasn’t aware that you even had to have a hunting license to trap hare. In the Alaska Hunting Regulations hare is considered a small game animal. And you don’t have to have a hunting license to hunt small game.

For you there is a specific season you can hunt them in.

You do need a hunting license to hunt small game, just not a specific permit. [Linked Image]

P.S. Also I'm actually GMU6. Gmu5 is over at Yakutat.

Still nothing in my Muskrat traps. Maybe I should put on my waders, bust open the ice around the lodge, and try setting the entrances? Or maybe I need some guide sticks to make sure they go through my trap and not around?

Definitely use guide sticks. It increases your chances of the animal going thru the trap.

Have you caught anything?

I did a check of some of my traps. Nothing was caught but a weasel stole some bait from a lynx cubby. Added more bait, so I should be good to go!

The only thing I've caught is a flu.

Was checking my coyote snare and a moose walker right past the stick it's hung from. If it had gone around the opposite side it would have ruined my set or worse.

Also someone stole one of my 110s. Annoying.

Muskrat. I had just baited it with carrot and put it near a bank with a bit of bubbles where there might have been a bank den. Wasn't even confident about it so I only set one as a test.
