I forgot there were 2 male mink that sold for $10 each. All fur was put up. I did almost all the bigger coons for my friend.I was paid $3-$4 each for doing those larger coons.

Thanks for the info!
At $2.85 a rat, at what point do guys bring their traps back out of the shed? When they can expect $8 averages?
If you’re in a target rich environment, a guy could really stack em up in short order and make a pile of cash. Easy and fast to put up.

According to our buyer the rat market looks to be low for the foreseeable future. He felt more optimistic about coons and that is not due to prices rising as much as they are almost easier for him to move at the current prices. Rats lined garments and that part of the market is gone as the double fur makes those wearing the fur look heavier. Coons can be used for trim. There was one buyer for him that tried rats for felt as the beaver market was so high but it did not work out very well.
I might try to expand my rat line a bit next year. Wading and canoeing is not as expensive as driving a lot.

Those target rich environments are far and few between and in my travels non existent.I found a couple better looking areas this year but the rat size was sickening.

If I had a good rat population I would trap them for that money. You aren't getting rich but if you can average 75-100 rats a day that is decent spending money.
