You can file "loss of income" on your taxes, from jury duty. In Ohio nothing has enough value to make this much of deduction. Cats in Oregon might have enough value.

State of Oregon giving me $10 a day plus 20 cents a mile mileage I figure it's about the wages most trappers are making these days.

I'm currently on 180 day grand jury duty.

Selected as grand jury deputy foreman. I nominated a retired state trooper as foreman and he turned around and nominated me as deputy foreman. Other jurors agreed...lol

We all had a good laugh about this a couple weeks ago. Retired trooper and retired game warden.

Never been on jury duty, my boss who is early 40s been on about 3 times and co worker who is in his 20's had to serve jury duty last year!

I ever get called it will probably be a OJ type trial that takes 2 years! Sequestered the whole time as well!

If you want out of it just say your are an anarchist. When I had jury duty it was not to bad learned how to make meth and how little proof the state needs to put you behind bars and how easy people will go along and not question what's presented.

In all it was not to bad of an experience.

I'm also the chairman of the county elections board.....that didn't work to get me out of grand jury duty.

I don’t mind though...being retired...I actually enjoyed hearing the felony cases presented and quizzing the arresting officers and DA about the cases. I knew law enforcement procedures better than the deputies. I had a good time that day.

They'll probably give me a ticket now for a minor traffic offense after that day.

I got called for jury duty for the first time ever about a month ago.

Letter said to call the night before to see if the case was still on.

Forgot all about it until the morning of. Woke up an hour before I was supposed to be there and hurriedly called the number they gave to find that I did not have to report after all.

I found out here a week or so I'm on the list for jury duty the whole month of March, always enjoyed my first experience with it several years ago !!

Know most try and get out of it, part of what's wrong with this country in my eyes, maybe if more cared about doing something for the country than trying to always have the country do something for them we all would be rewarded !!

I was on call all of 2024 for regular jury duty. They never called me. Too bad, I was looking forward to it.
