Im no expert, but have called in several cats on purpose. I use different tactic for cats than coyotes. I believe cats will come check it out if they are within earshot, but you need to be in their area. Unlike coyote calling, I never turn caller off once I start with the calls. I switch sounds and vary the volume often, but it doesnt get turned off. Cats are goofy, you turn the sound off for a couple minutes (during a typical on/off cycle used for coyotes) and they might get bored and walk away. Over the years, I feel as though ive had better luck with bird distress sounds...particularly the different woodpecker distress sounds. The last one I called in showed up at the 52 minute mark...be patient and for crying out loud, sit still...buggers can see a knat blink at 100 yards. I do a fair amount of hunting and nothing gets my heart racing like watching a bobcat stalking in on your decoy....cat fever.
Again, im no expert, but that is what has worked for me....good luck !

Most guys will call in more cats than they know. You just have to have the mind set to look for them, most times they suddenly appear at 50 yards, and you have no idea where they came from or how they got there. This. I figure if u see one out of 3 cats u call in your doing pretty good. Most cats will sneak in close enough to look the situation over and will see you before u see them. Squirrels are real good at alerting u to the presence of a cat but they don't make it easier to see them. If on location an elevated deer stand is an advantage

In this day and age of anyone not wanting trappers and hunters around animals, putting a suggestion on using a recording of a baby for calling is one of the most stupid things any one could do on a popular hunting and trapping forum such as this !!
So here is your blow back and hopeful that a Mod takes your reply off here !
I took it down for you...Have a nice day GritGuy.

I typicallly hunt from a ladder stand and I rarely go unless there is snow on the ground. That helps, but ive still had them appear out of nowhere like a darn ghost. Impressive predators in my mind....

Ive never tried the bobcat fighting or growl sounds....its mating season in my neck of the woods but season ended two weeks ago. Give it a whirl and let us know how it goes...
