Lost my old one while taking an emergency dump in the bush last weekend. Ordered this one on Sunday and it arrived Wednesday! , Free shipping too! It was super easy to add images & writing from the custom shop so I got a bit crazy adding stuff. All this tacked on $100CAD. Plus I found my old one yesterday! …..lol Wind blew, crap flew. Was your old one covered in poop? Oh I knew that was coming. No, it was about a foot away from ground zero. Right where it always falls out if I’m taking the skipants down or putting them on. Anyone ever notice that a leatherman hitting a wood floor sounds exactly like a Glock with a loaded magazine hitting the floor? I’ve never dropped mine, but when there’s 2 LEOs in the shack and I’m getting dressed in the morning, the loud clunk sure gets their attention….lol

Leatherman has excellent customer service. Has to send mine in when the jaws of the wire cutter got buggered up making the pliers worthless. Since my modle was no longer made they offered me a new one. When I declined that offer they fixed my old one and sent it back no charge! My only complaint if you can call it that, would be they no longer offer a leather sheath for it. After my original one wore out I ended up making a replacement by using the old one for a pattern. Regardless, I will remain a loyal Leatherman customer.

When I talked to them last time, the rep said they no longer carried the leather ones but then they also said they couldn't fix my Leathermans and offered a replacement. Might depend upon who you talk to.

Why do I not have a leathman instead of having pliers and a knife seperate?
I think I dropped mine in a river during salmon season and never got around to replacing them. They’re bloody handy. The cable cutter in behind the jaws isn’t great, but it does cut cable. I didn’t even know it was there until I googled it. The wire cutter just binds up when trying to cut cable. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/02/full-56418-248207-img_2053.jpeg) Here’s my old one, the newer style has replaceable wire cutters.

They got replacement parts for them too. They also still make leather cases for them. Pick a knife and fool around with the custom stuff. Unreal how easy it was. https://www.leatherman.com/customshopI didn’t know you could do it either, until I lost mine and found that the best price for me was straight from them. Then I picked my knife and decided to click “customize” just to see. I don’t know how they shipped for free and it crossed the border so fast. I was expecting it in about a month.

Was your old one covered in poop? Oh I knew that was coming. No, it was about a foot away from ground zero. So you are saying from "center" to the outside of you belt is a foot? 2 feet across the backside? I better start being nicer to you if you are that big of a dude.

No belt 160. All I wear is long John’s under my skipants. I need it in the top side pocket of the skipants for easy access.

Haha…. That’s my tip. Don’t wear pants or sweats under your skipants, just slippery longjohns like Sitka or Under Armour or whatever. Way easier moving around!

You Americans like anything that’s “commando”. Put commando on a pack of gitch….it’ll sell, “Official sock of Panamanian Commandoes”…..it’ll move, Compass, “Favourite, used by US commandos. The government imposed a strict limit of 5 per customer”….I’ll take 5…..lol

I am jealous that you got that store and don’t have to pay an obtuse amount to get stuff shipped, but I’ve been to Duluth once. Now, every time I see that word, I remember the night I spent there…..Duluth is a city that you should just fly through on your way by, stop at the next town, Crackville or whatever it’s called. It’s like the north end of Winnipeg……lol

When it comes to very necessary outdoors item you must always have a spare of those things Flashlight A way to tell time a GPS ?? etc So therefor you must have 2 in case you lose one you still have a spare . So maybe the next time you lose one it is a good time to stock up with a few that have special feature That way you will be not be hindered by an unexpected hinny while out and about I know i am very prone to that situation . One is none and 2 is 1. Yep! I took my Mother there a couple weeks ago and I was sure I had a spare magazine in my back pocket. I hate that town. At least you get to carry. I guess open carry is usually enough to deter the average deuce bag?
