Ok I’ve got my city calling me wanting coyotes and all other nuisance animals caught and removed from city limits my question to yall that do this is how do I charge for this ??? I’ve got everything I need to do this job including insurance just don’t know if I need to charge by animal or by hour any help is appreciated!!! And yes I’m only one close by that will help them on this issue thanks for yall input in advance

Depends on how much driving. Vehicles are pricy. If your only going to be trapping about two hours a day and not driving much I would ask for a hundred. It will be every day and 200 bucks for that seems fair to me. If its a city, will take several hours a day, have to drive 30 miles to get there, might go down to 80 if you will put in 6-8 hours a day. Do a good job, produce plenty of critters, dont use weather for an excuse, you will likely get a few days every year.

$50/day seems to be what the market will bare around me. Any time I’ve gone over that I don’t get a call back. There’s a few guys who do predator control around me though so competition keeps the price lower

The job is for a city that’s 9 miles from me so I gotta figure time / fuel / wear and tear on my vehicle and miscellaneous expenses like they do on things lol

It takes $60 +/- to fill my truck up with gas. I don't discuss my overhead with with any potential client.


Predator trapping jobs was $200 to $300 per day considering how big the property was....10 to 14 day minimum per landowner's wishes. The $300/day jobs were large properties (in excess of 2000 acres and involved 150 to 200 traps...footholds, BGs, and DPs.)

IRS vehicle reimbursement is 67 cents per mile, so figure a minimum of 20 miles round trip would be $13.40, and you'll probably be over that milage so at least 15 bucks a trip just for vehicle expenses...

other things to consider when pricing is this property access to the public like a park or recreation area or is it somewhat off limits,chances of traps being stolen because trapping in a public park will either give you grief and headache also reccommend checking more than once a day as this is probably have everyone watching or possible set in the evening and set off and remove critters in the morning

According to the mayor they are a problem all over the city so I’m thinking set every evening and check by daylight and throw traps as to keep domestic animals out and animal rights people from gathering ammunition against me lol there is a lot of vacant land around the city so I’ve got to get with landowners and get written permission and I was referred by our local game wardens so I’ll get with them on a game plan they may have they are saying there getting 20-100 calls a day about coyotes all over the city limits

is a trappers knowledge and tools worth less than a mechanic?

if you are a professional, charge professional rates. check that...they're in a bind, charge MORE than the best plumber in your area charges.

I’ve done small jobs for them before usually just bats in attics or coons rummaging thru people’s trash but I’ve always charged a fee for setup and so much per animal caught now that it’s gonna be this kinda trapping I was just needing a little advice

Temporarily" close down the area where you an are working.

IRS Mileage rate 2025 is .70 cents per mile.

I normally figure $100 hour, try and figure time. I trap municipal places and charge $247 a day my traps are out there might be a few hours setting them up but checks go fast. Still $247 for checks. These are just mole and gophers normally. Coyotes I would go up, pain in the city, dealing with people sucks on animals they see.
