Done plenty of tile showers, never tub.

Are you doing them the old fashion way, mud pan and cement board or using the “new” products?

Problem with them is you wont know it is leaking until the floor sinks in. UNLESS you have a basement.

Won’t usually leak because you install a mud pan that has pond liner above the lip…

It can be done but i wouldnt suggest it. Why not a tub with tile surround or a full shower in same area?

Done plenty of both. These days it’s mostly prefab pans. I do a lot of cultured marble showers too.

Have done hundreds of all tile spas.

If you don't want to go through the work of taking out, cleaning up and regrouting the tile, you can have a fiberglass shell made that fits over the tile.
