Can’t believe I went a year or so before getting a scanner, what a game changer!!

Yessir!

I learned the 1st night that using the rifle-mounted thermal was a no-go.

Handcalled him his first daylight coyote the other day, that dog was shot at 10 yds...So now we'll probably never get to sleep, Lol.

Thermals and digital NV scopes with good IR lights are AMAZING! Made me gasp when I looked thru one a couple years ago.

Technology has increased amd prices continue to drop. Thermal units that were in the $3500 to $4000 range just a few years ago can be bought today for $1000 less.

I considered a unit with LRF, but down here I won't have many shot opportunities over 200 yds.

Yeah, I don’t necessarily need a rangefinder to tell me it’s under 200. Most likely under 150, lol. Far for me is between 80-100.
My thoughts may be changing on thermal scopes and scanners…I wanted nicer scopes vs scanner. Now I’m leaning more towards nicer scanner vs scope. I spend WAY more time on the scanner and then maybe 30sec on the scope to shoot.

Try a good pair of binders sometime when you have a bit of moon.

I understand that it’s not the same.

I have had these thermal recently recommended to me. 3 different resolutions and 3 different price points. start under $900 go up to about 2 k.

users AI to enhance resolution much improving image quality. Can be a scanner, weapons sight, and a clip on in front of your low power day optic.

I'm thinking one of these would pair well as a stand alone sight on a suppressed 300 black out I'm not currently using. . Over kill for coon and opossum and skunk but I'm not using that gun for anything else right now.
