did you use junk yard engines or put 900,000miles on it ? Neither we rebuilt it twice completely the problem was a aftermarket air filter on the intake that would shrink in the winter and suck in debris causing it to grenade itself. And the transmission we brought out of parts trucks. And redid

I drive Chevy's because I like driving a truck, not working on it!! Hahaha, you need something reliable so you can go check traps in the morning, not replace the engine or transmission before you go check traps.

then Kid I think you may have to face it , your a kid , you were kept out of the loop , all the places to get the info you want reside with your dad he is your gateway. It's time to go talk with him.
so lesson in life , records are important , learn how to keep them early , it doesn't have to be difficult folders in a box , reuse the left over used school folders from each year masking tape and label them and start saving your records , if you don't no one else will.
learn to backup your photos , you will not believe how important photos will become to you in the future , Digital makes accessibility and availability of photos so easy , but it makes losing them all so easy as well. Really and maybe some others can back me up as you get older those pictures will be one of your favorite things because they are so good at bringing back memories.
and now for life's lesson , Let it Go , you are going to have to learn to let absolutely everything you love go. People, but especially things , save the picture keep the memories they are what is important but things come and go. Having your grandpa's gun is really cool and I wish every kid could get gifted a gun from their grandpa. There just isn't the space in life to save all the things , people try that and it is called hording at some point. You have to determine what is important and at some point you are putting so much of your resources into saving and warehousing the stuff it takes a new toll , do you own the stuff or does the stuff own you.
unless you die first and fast you will watch just about everyone you know pass and let everything you own go.
if you do pass first you will leave someone with what they see as a mess. I encourage you when someday you have the opportunity to help with an estate , do it there are so many life lessons in closing out someone's life and possessions , this can be something maybe you wait till your 30s or later to do but it can really change your outlook on more stuff.
when you free yourself from stuff , it is a paradigm shift for sure.
there are of course things you need and use and keep those , just saying you need a dependable vehicle to get to the next chapter in your life it could be that truck but it could be you find something else that does what you need so you can move on.
one day hopefully you and your wife are saying , we need a mini van or a suburban the car seats just don't fit in the truck. so you go buy one and let that truck go because it isn't what you need then. you take some good pictures with you and the family with the truck and then you let it go.
Ok that was a bit heavy , but heavy is educational as well.
take notice of the literal miles of storage shed in and around near every place , those sheds are filled with the stuff people couldn't part with , as well as countless attics , garages , basements, closets , spare rooms , crawl spaces. storage is a multi billion dollar industry , it might be a trillion dollar industry and it is largely built on peoples inability to part with stuff or their addiction to collecting stuff. do you know what happens to a significant number of those units , they go to auction because the person couldn't keep paying the storage fees.

I'll give you GCP's quick version... When you die, your stuff will go into a dumpster, ...Go find a good truck, let that one go, it's only a truck. yeah , I might be in the middle of dealing with an estate and I just helped with an estate last year that basically defined everything you don't want to do and a I see cousins dealing with my great aunts estate which is not bad and watched my parents deal with my grandparents estates even when it isn't a mess , it is a lot of work.
