cool get what you can from them then , I worked on an estate where my dead friend seemed to always over estimate the value when he had it and low ball everyone he ever bought from.

the wife thought it was worth WAY more than anything was.

anyway the devil is always in the details

some of the guns he had tried selling at a gun show before passing so there were price tags on them in his hand writing
wanted about double what everything was worth one was a cheap shotgun that literally sold for 129.99 on sale new just a couple years prior and he was asking 250 after having crossed out 300

he had basically been lying to her for decades
we had only talked a bit in the last 20 years when he called me one day said I have terminal cancer and if I pass before I get stuff sold can you help her.

I think it would be fun to shoot

If memory serves, some.......if not most......of the pistols dad had are smooth bore flintlocks. Would be interesting to watch somebody fire one........whilst standing off in the distance......and behind a bale of hay.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

Flintlock would be easy to fire with a fuse. Could take the nipple out of a cap gun and use a fuse. BP pressure is low enough if everything looked good I would just shoot. Black powder, not a substitute. I might be interested in buying the one shown but have no idea of its market value.

make sure you can get the pan to light repeatedly then start low like 30gr of powder and a wadding , so that if you have to pull it , it is easy

the thing about flinters is it is hard to build big pressure as they vent out the flash channel/vent
if you can stuff it down the bore it doesn't really take any more to push it back out

It has a rifled barrel not SB. I’ll look at it some more tonight and see what I can find.
