I know they like T 111 siding really well and indoor/outdoor carpet on decks.:) Seen lots of damage from them over the years. It's the salt in the glue their after.

Yes fruit trees (2 yr old apple) have not visited site yet so not positive it is Porkies, client says between 70 and 90 trees have been debarked 2 to 2.5 feet up. Visiting 2morrow to see, taking cages (single door and double door) and cameras

Turpentine on a rag. This smells like tree bark, their food, what they want anyway. Foothold, body grip or cage. Trail is huge and nearby. It should be straight as a ruler, from one spot to the next. They are nocturnal and return to the den site in the mornings.
Find the tree's it's eating, then backtrack to the edges of the trees to find the trail. One trail, mabe two at the most, but probably one main trail, from the den to the orchard. Could be under a shed or outbuilding near the orchard. They love being under buildings to sleep.
My Super Wide will pull your broken down 4 stroke, up a hill backwards, with you on it!

An old timer once told me that porkies love bacon grease. Never trapped them so I Don't know if it works. It's the salt they like

Follow up Thought I drop a post and thank folks for their suggestions on bait. Ended up using Apples cut in thirds coated 1 side of the "sliced" apple with salt, also used clippings from a doug fir branch. Ended up taking 6 porkies.
