When putting up fisher how long do you leave the front legs. I've noticed in a lot of videos full length front legs before turning. Not cut closer like coon or mink etc.....

I cut mine at the elbows. Longer won't hurt though. Easier to tuck them in.

I leave them long.

Thanks for the responses. Fisher have fur on their front legs and top of paws that's beautiful. Not sure if anyone utilizes it. I'll leave them long.

You definitely want to leave them long enough that once you tuck them in you see no skin showing from anywhere in that leg hole.

If you cut them too short where they don’t tuck in, the fur will be graded damaged.

I skin mine with all four feet on.......appeals more to the niche buyers AND if//when I get them tanned, I get more for them that I would through fur sales.

IMO, few are catching them in any number to NOT justify leaving the feet on.......but perhaps there's a pile of OTHER fur in the shop that also needed tending...............

Now someone will show me a pic of a guy with 200 fisher on the barn wall! LOL
