PERFECT

You really don't need that many Nails'. And you could slice off the ear butts. But It's not a big deal.

Thank you and I had a feeling I was using to many but already started so figured it was too late to stop. What's the right amount of spacing between nails and how do you cut the ears off withought leaving big holes?

Nail spacing about a inch or 11/2 apart. If you're selling to the fur market It won't be a big deal to cut off the ear butts.
But I guess if you're tanning them for wall hangers you could just leave them as Is. My buyer tells me to cut off the whole face area. But I wouldn't do that unless your told It's Ok.

You should pat yourself on the back you have done a great job on those beaver. Better than Boco and you probably didn't have to stand out in freezing temps to frost scrape. LOL

Nice job on the beaver nice and clean, they will dry good.
Industry standard for nail spacing on beaver is 3/4 to 1 inch apart.
Use your knife and clean up around the ears,it will free up your boards quicker if you need them.

Looks good, take the advice given, and you don't need that many nails in the legs either. I have a heckuva time with legs, I'm getting it but it really takes experience! Fleshed way better than my first one! I cut ear buds off and pull the ear through the hair side and remove, then put 1 nail in each hole.

You can space the nails a little further, but dang they make a nice looking hide when they are that close together. I usually nail 1/2 - 3/4" apart. Never more than an inch. So tighter than some of the others are telling you. But back when I was a kid and learning to put them up, I got chewed out if there was scallops between nails, they were supposed to be one smooth curve around the hide. They aren't so picky in the fur market these days, but if I have a dip in between nails I still figure they are too far apart and tighten them up. A little trimming around the ears will get it to dry faster, otherwise it looks good.
