I have some redfox glands, and wonder whats the best way to make some lure of them? aging/rotting? What to mix them with etc. Hope someone can give me some easy tips, thanks.

Tell us if you are leaning toward a gland lure? Curiosity? or food attraction?

I am new to making lure for red fox, so I aming for something that the red fox will check out. Get the fox as close as possible to the lure is my main goal. So I am not sure whats best of gland lure or curiosity lure? Its plenty of red fox where im living, but they are very shy. Thats why im looking for something that can get them interested.

Ok, so next question. Are you trapping the fox just in fur season? (fall and winter time) or are you doing spring and summer trapping also? If I have red fox glands I Would just make a red fox gland lure. Take the glands and thaw them. Let set for 2 or 3 days or just until you can smell them changing a bit. Put them through a grinder a time or 2 with equal amounts of red fox urine and glycerin until its a nice pasty consistancy. Mixing in the recommended amount of preservative for the amount of product you have. This will give you a gland lure that should make them investigate and pee on top of or mark over. I hope others will give you advise on what to do if you want something different. Good luck!
