Some days, I was in great shape when I hauled canned milk. Bulk haul has its drawbacks and Mr. Farmer is one of them.

Appreciate all the feedback! I’m undecided but I think I’m still going to need a filler job in retirement. Don’t mind physical labor just don’t want 7 days a week tied to a clock.

If you like driving try a parts store. They all have delivery guys. Pay is minimal but so are the demands. I never hauled milk but i did haul acid in 3600 gallon trailers working at The Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. Not steady just hauled acid a few times a month. Those unbaffled tanks are a real challenge. Especially when half or 3/4 full.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

In our area there are very few class b trucks hauling milk. And the ones that are get replaced with class A when its time to replace them.

The haulers are always looking for drivers, because the job sucks. It's long hours, lots of hurry up then wait, driving on crappy roads in crappy conditions and it's always understaffed. Which leads to more work for everyone else.

I know guys who use the job just like you want to, and some love it, some hate it. Much depends on the company you drive for. Some will be happy to let you work whatever you are willing to because they need the help. And some will be perpetually frustrated with you for the same reason, because they need the help.

Just a thought, but delivering dead bodies where they need to go is a thing.... No big trucks to handle, time is flexible, especially for the person in back, and the pay is ok....I know one guy that loves the job....say's no one bothers him, lol
