You have your answer right here, right now, in just the replies on you asking, this is what exactly that "debate" would turn into in just one hour !!

God Luck, but you have been warned !!

Do you have an "open mind" about cosmology ?

Do you have the basic tools......geometry, algebra, basic physics........to consider information from your opponent's point of view ?

Not being a theologian, I sure wouldn't pretend I could discuss scripture.

Who is going to decide who "wins" the "debate" ?

So there are people that believe a creator created all the planets, stars, systems, galaxies with their orbit travel through space and just everything's overall existence from one edge of space to the other? You know space, the infinite thing outside of earth that goes forever (there is no edge) and is currently growing expanding and getting bigger and bigger... people believe there is a creator that is creating that? Like currently in real time as we all travel through space?

How does something that doesn't have an edge get even bigger?

When you think of an "edge" you are thinking about a physical boundary. That is much different than the "observable" limits.....or edge.....that we can see.

At about 13.7 billion light years from earth Hubble and newer telescopes have shown us the Cosmic Microwave Background. It appears as a fog to the telescope. That is our observable "edge".

The reason we can't see past that point is because the distances beyond it are so great that any light form there has not had time to reach us...therefore it is not observable by us.

Are you talking about a physics debat of the big bang, or religious stuff.
If you look at the 2 big dogs, Christianity & Islam and the wars they started, makes one wonder. They’re the same story with a bit of a twist. Catholics & protestants even but heads about their version.
I think the most accurate account is after the 7th day, day of rest, came the 8th. On the 8th day, God created linemen.

And , don't forget the crimes against humanity that they foisted on the world at that time!

The purpose of the debate is to better my debating skills with other people. My uncle believes in evolution and I like having discussions over the topic. Just trying to get a better one-on-one with somebody.

I am willing to hear someone out on cosmology.
Yes, I have the basic tools and knowledge.
I will be using Biblical references as evidence for my case. That doesn’t mean you have to do the same.
The will be no “winner” of the debate. It will end when either person asks for it to.

White doesn't light have a limit to how far it can be seen? Not saying ur wrong that we can't see the edge because it hasn't had time to get here but theirs also the limiting factor as to how far it can be seen i believe

Maybe. I can't think of encountering any information on that. I suppose it is possible that photons can be absorbed by dark energy or be transformed back into matter before they have traveled far enough to be observed but that discussion and the mechanics involved is way beyond my pay grade

EDIT: Maybe you are referring to the Doppler red shift ???

My grandfather, who was a leading scientist in NASA , would have had fun with this one....then again, he very well could have felt this was way "below his pay grade", and just smiled at the posts...howevah, there are some good thoughts posted so far.

Do you want to do the debate?
