Nope.So long as I stay alive I plan on working at least 6 more years untill I'm 70.Will be spending winters in Arizona but living in Maine the rest of the year.I will keep working in Baxter State Park from beginning of May untill end of October.Once I turn 65 next year I plan on buying my lifetime trapping, hunting, and fishing licenses in Maine and become a resident of Arizona. Also when I can I'm planning on some trips up to Alaska and try to trap a wolverine and hunt for caribou.

You may want to check and then double check this thought process. Every state agency I was ever around required the employees to be residents of that state.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Wrong. You can be a reident of one state and still live and working a diffrent states.Only disadvantage is having to pay state taxes in both states. You have to have your truck registered and vote in that same state.

It doesn't matter to me one bit but if you have to have your truck registered in Maine and registered to vote there, how will Nevada be your permanent residence? I know a guy here that worked seasonally for the DNR here. He moved with plans to still work here seasonally. He was terminated because being a state resident was a condition of hire. Like I said, I don't have a dog in this fight and could care less. I was just trying to be helpful. I won't let it happen again.

Nice gig, Bruce . I had a similar pay job. 4/1 thru 12/15 seasonal . 1967, 68, 69 . As an Interior Caretaker, NYSDEC. Living on site at Pharaoh Lake wilderness area. Lake stats = 430 surface acres, depth 125 feet, Brook trout stocked yearly. 7 ADK Lean-to's & many tent sites. No brag but as I look back "That Was A GIG". Sure miss those times................ Tut

Just trying to explain it to you.I appreciate any help but have looked it all up.Some states like Nevada you have to live there for at least 6 months.Arizona it's just 3 months.I will be a resident of,register my truck, and vote in Arizona. At least half the people that work in Baxter State Park do not live in Maine. They are residents of other states.I did not try to be mean and apologize if I sounded that way.

So how do they retain a Maine drivers license by being a "resident" of another state?
