They dropped it from the menu but Longhorns used to have a shaved prime rib sammich that you could get served with either horse radish or augu sauce. I'd eat it with one of each and it was better than any sub type sammich I ever ate.

2nd place was a corned beef melt made up in your neck of the woods by s place called The Corned Beef Factory if I remember right. I was in there 2 or 3 times a week.

It was just like a philly cheese steak but with corned beef- it didn't take much time for me to scarf one of them down.

Hot beef on Italian bread with mozzarella melted on top soaked in au jus. One of the few things I miss about Chicago is the good good.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

my youngest the pastry chef student , made some darn fine subs when they worked for a local sub shop

couldn't go there and get one , they had to bring it home , because it wasn't on the menu

each employee got a free sandwich per shift worked , and they could make it themselves any way they wanted.

they would get tired of subs and bring me one , that was good

Well that would solve the problem of where to take momma out for sure! It's probably my fav road house type chain.

I’ve never had a bad experience at Longhorn steakhouse. Mom is pretty easy going, as long as we go somewhere and spend time together she is happy!!

That’s almost enough black pepper. It drives my wife nuts when I take the lid off of the pepper shaker at restaurants to season my food.

Mad Mike my mom salts food before she even tastes it. I hardly ever use salt. But man I love black pepper.

That’s funny because I rarely add salt to my food, but I have to season my food with black pepper. Just ain’t right without it.

I’ll have to come up your way!
The closest thing we have to something like that is “philthy “ Phil’s Corner Store in downtown Uniontown.
Dinky little subs but a cult classic around here.

Nothing like those subs that every little hole-in-wall convivence store and pizza shop sell in western NY. My favorites, when I lived there, were steak and cheese, and chicken finger. You don't need to order extra meat, so there's so much meat stuffed in 'em you can hardly take a bite. The steak one with lots of mozzarella cheese all melted through the meat, with mayo, oil and vinegar. The chicken finger one... breaded chicken fingers dipped in Franks hot sauce, topped with provolone, crumbled blue cheese and blue cheese dressing. Man, now I'm drooling!
