When you spend all day, every day on an iPad or a phone you have thin skinned, uncalloused hands. Have them shovel or hammer for 20 minutes and their hands would be blistered just like the picture.

I'm not a fan of hurting kids, but we do need some of these kids to become hard men, for the future of this country.

Football is a sport for tough kids, practice should hurt enough to make them used to the game anyway. I still shiver thinking about playing in the snow and smashing my fingers between two facemasks, that HURTS.

What would have been wrong with using a football field for the bear crawl exercise? The coach sounds like he is an idiot.

I guess what I'd like to know, was the track asphalt, or was it that ground up rubber stuff? The infantry is pretty hardcore, and I wouldn't have made my Marines bear crawl on asphalt. If the idea behind the exercise is pain, I can cause that without causing physical injury. I agree, bear crawls on the practice field would have made more sense.

My marine buddy used to hog hunt every weekend, he said it's way less work to go home with a hog than it is to go home with a model, and the end result is the same.

I still haven't convinced myself that he was right, but he sure seemed to have fun with it.

One thing Texas seems to consistently do right is their football stadiums. If you could only see what our "stadium" looks like. We don't even play 11 man ball, we play 8 man.
