Got in a few dust ups but I was always a lover not a fighter.

Been in a number of kinds of fights including the bar kind. They ain't like the good 'ol westerns. That's for sure! Love the movies though.

Had a brawl when I was in Korea, pretty drunk, made the Stars & Stripes. One eye was swelled shut for a few days, didn't need two to fill sandbags!

In my younger day's I was in many, bars, backroads, and usually beer or a girl involved. Gave better than I got. Broke a couple noses and eye sockets. Last one was a 20 years ago some guy was hassling my daughter at a wedding dance, my wife stepped in between them, he was dumb. I don't take kindly to that. He was helped out of the establishment. Most youngsters around here do not know how to fight. Knuckles don't hurt anything, clubs, chains, knives and guns, that's different.

Was in a bar one time and my buddy who was playing pool for a beer, ran the table and told the ole boy that he just beat, "I'll have a Budweiser."
The ole boy didn't take kindly to my buddy's tone and they started to jawing about it. Next thing I know, my buddy got sucker punched pretty good.
I saw it coming so I was already positioned behind the ole boy and I jumped on his back like a spider monkey, or maybe Ernest T Bass, and brought him on the ground. The bouncer was not far behind either and pulled me off of him.
The ole boy didn't get jail time but was ordered to pay restitution. Later on, my buddy refused the money from the ole boy. Seemed to be the right thing to do, given that the ole boy was taken down by a wiry guy who he outweighed by 80 pounds.

Bar fights? No. I did disarm a drunk guy who had plans with a butcher knife one evening at a house party. Few close calls in bars but they always decided that talking was ultimately all they were willing to do which was fine by me. I spent my teens and twenties in an mma gym sparing and grappling with guys who fought professionally. When you spend time training with talented people getting into scraps with mouthy people on the street doesn’t seem interesting anymore. You stay ready but if they don’t have the sand to start a physical confrontation you let them yap and move on.

That's why I stay out of bars.
