My friend that is a Registered Maine Guide came to The North Country to begin his 51 st year as a Registered Maine Guide last week As he put it to me Him and his wife have been living in Maine 5 months of the year for a longtime And they love the North Country Because of his kindness to me I was able to spend 5 days of those 50 year giving me a weeks worth of insight in to how much fun that can be He has often talked of Maine and the great wilderness that it is The Moose the bobcat the coyote the beavers otters turkeys the eagle the deer and bear And of course the fishing is high on the list for many that come there in the summer for what many consider the greatest fishing to be found anywhere on the North American continent Bass trout land locked salmon are favorites among the fishing crowd And last but not least for many are the grouse and timber doddles are another 2 reasons why so many love Maine THE NORTH COUNTRY Bruce I always enjoy your posts and having spent 5 days there is no comparison of course to living there year around and learning to adjust your life style to the time clock you plan your daily actives around Your post and the storied I get from my fishing guide friend make it possible to see in the window of a life lived in Maine And by the way nice fish

I hate it when you send those pictures, it makes me jealous! wink grin There used to be a stream near my place, but the farmer died and his kid sold all the land for residential housing. Now, it's all private property. Brookies are the best eating of all the trout.

The first bottles of Coca Cola contained 3.5 grams of cocaine. That's how our grandparents were able to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow.

Brookies are the best eating of all the trout I gave up fishing because I am the worst fisherman in and that would leave me no where when it came to me wasting my time at it
