I have some older 330s in which one end of springs are bent/squeezed closed while the other end has a small metal piece that bridges the spring eye gap then secured with a small cotter pin. One of these clips broke making it useless. Does anyone know where I can get replacement metal pieces? Hope I described this well enough.

Why not just squeeze the eye closed?

Just doing what I want now.

that bracket was designed so you could pull that cotter pin, and remove the spring from the jaws to release yourself. maybe check with keith winkler at sterling fur for old stock replacement parts.

Gotta few here too....it's amazing that the metal bracket and cotter pins are still intact.

That’s interesting, I wonder why that didn’t catch on more? Doesn’t seem like a bad idea

Seemed like a good idea to me to, until I thought about how much I fight getting cotter pins out of stuff on vehicles. I can just imagine how well they come out of a 330 that is immersed in water for long periods

My first move would be to replace those pins with something easier to mess with one handed. But I always have pliers in my pocket when I’m trapping, so the cotter pins wouldn’t even be bad if they got replaced on a biannual basis I think
