What about paying school taxes when you don't have kids in school? That's a bigger issue if you ask me. Right, because you probably didn’t benefit from getting educated, or from others that did. SMH. P.S. Are you Mando that used to be on here?

Where my daughter teaches in MKE the also have homeless students
They get breakfast and lunch
Very difficult to teach students that are hungry.
Face it many of the parents shouldn't be, but foster care is also majorly broken and costs a lot more.
Not at all uncommon to hear the only meals the kids get are at school.
Less room for fraud and waste if they have to eat it at school.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

KeithC is right. Hungry kids = bad. Fed kids = good. It can go way deeper that this, but this is the bottom line.
Go outside and do stuff.

![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/06/full-52051-259858-1000001120.png) All good Christians know that Jesus wouldn't want us to feed hungry kids. That's someone else's problem Exactly! They’ll say it should be churches doing it. But aren’t we supposed to help how we can. Just don't think .gov is the best distributor of charity. Has nothing to do with what believers should do on their own.

Yeah, but they are the ones handing out the lunches to the kids in school who are hungry and don’t get consistent meals. I don’t see other groups doing it at schools.
My one son goes to a private Christian school, I am required to pack his lunch every day. I’m fine with that, but they aren’t feeding him, even if they cash that check every month. Which they do. Lol

Jesus for us to give. Not the government taking your money to redistribute. This. If you see a kid hungry, feed them. You don't need a bureaucrat to do that.

Idk if we are discussing that. Perfect world yeah. But we don’t have that. So, if my money is going to feed kids, I’m good with it. Just like the 11% tax on hunting gear for PR.
I’m good. Now, the other money not so much. I’m all about you don’t work you don’t eat. But it’s children and I’m good with them getting food.
Is there problems with it? Yes. But, it’s how it is. I don’t see churches lined up to help.
We do have an annual squirrel hunt that goes to feed our elderly population and they donate stuff to kids in need.
It’s a good thing .

I agree in principle, but will every hungry kid be “seen” by someone willing to give? How many would give if it wasn’t automatically done for them? It’s not a perfect system, but I’d rather see some get that don’t deserve versus don’t get that truly need. If you can’t handle school-related taxes then you may need to look in the mirror and reevaluate your own life choices.

But then again, I don't see many churches lining up to feed tons of kids on a regular, daily basis. My own church sure doesn't. We feed other kids at our home all the time, but sure can't feed every kid in town. Maybe one her people have a different experience. If we Christians don't want the govt feeding kids (and I can certainly agree with that principle), and hen we need to be doing it ourselves. Jesus told us to give freely out of love for others, not to have the govt rip it out of our paychecks against our will. But complaining about it won't feed hungry kids, and stopping free school lunches certainly won't feed hungry kids.

I thought we had a childhood obesity problem in this country. Well, first of all,not every kid is obese. But also, America is probably one of the few places on earth where the malnourished become obese. For a lot of kids, the issue isn't necessarily no food, but a lack of good food. We used to have a kid come over here to eat all the time, he would wolf down whatever we were having for dinner. He had food at home, but the food at home was almost exclusively Doritos, Cheetos, and pop.

The local schools here feed all year long. Just today, saw a brand new Camaro waiting in line to pick up their free lunch. They weren't the only new car in line, by the way. Well that settles it, no kid should get food assistance because B&B saw some new cars.
