Who's read good book(s) lately? I just finished "Blue Highways". Author travels America on back roads and writes about people and places. Good history and good read.

The book I just finished yesterday was similar, Jack. Travels with Charley by Steinbeck. Haven't decided what's next on my list. May catch up on some magazines before picking the next book.

I am reading Dead Man's Walk, not my favorite but I have to finish a book I start(some kind of personality quirk). I have caught up on my magazines so not sure what is next, probably back to sci-fi or fantasy.

I'm starting the book you recommended for me, Jack, with the people you knew . Anyone that you've known and worked with , gives me a whole new "insider perspective" , as I proceed, that helps me feel included in a special adventure. Can't wait to get into it more asap.

I discovered three additional books that Douglas Adams, one of my favorite authors, had written outside the Hitchhiker series. I didn’t know they existed until a couple of months ago. I’m on the third and final one now.

John Valillant's boook is highly recommend - 'tIGER". Although I really like Steinbeck, I thought "Travels with Charlie" was his worst.

When I first started it, I really liked it, but the further I got into it, it seemed to get pretty darn liberal, which made it much harder to enjoy.

Jack,

What did you think of the book "Blueprint" by Christakis I sent you a few months ago?

I hope you enjoyed it. That is way above my comprehension level.

I have been reading Brown Bears minds lately. Had wolves, moose, brown bears and black bears the other evening while hunting.

Another sf/fantasy fan. I'm more of a sf fan than fantasy, but if the Author is good, it is good also. Just reread David Weber's In Fury Born which is mainly mil-scifi but has a bit of crossover with fantasy. Never tried Larry McMurtry's books I didnt care for the movies even though my wife loves them, so never had an interest in reading the books. Besides I grew up on Louis L'Amour and he pretty much ruined me for other western writers.
