I'm thinking of getting a game camera SD card reader. Do you guys have any recommendations? I'm not a game cam guru like some, I only have 3 cameras, but I may want to put them deed into the wilderness this summer and it would be nice to view the card right away when I check the cameras.

I'm leaning towards the "Stealth Cam SD Card LCD Viewer" from MidwayUSA:

Thanks,

Robert Martin

Been using this for my phone plus I have one that plugs into my PC that has multiple slots for different types of cards depending on what you plan to do with the photos like viewing or archive them.

Here’s the PC one the advantage of the Computer one is greater detail where the phone viewing is very small searching for photos.

I have one the size of a thumb drive that takes the SD card and plugs into my Samsung phone. Looks like this except not camo.

So, do these readers take up data when in the field and not close to WIFI???

Do they burn up battery life when reading and viewing in the field???

Not sure about all of them but mine is just some app that is stored on the phone. Once you plug the reader with the sd card into the phone you are able to see the pictures. I dont think there is any need for internet connection as I've used it in spots where I know the pnone has no service. I dont recall it ever having any battery use issues.

As noted by others, the downside is the small picture of the phone. its a good way to make a quick check of a card in old school camera so that you can decide if you need to bring it home to erase a bunch of stuff, look closer on computer monitor, etc

If u buy one that plugs in your phone this is the best I've found. The cheap ones dont last, nothing more frustrating than getting to ur cam and ur reader quits u. I bought it on Amazon.
