X2 on this. I cant imagine setting a 4 coiled No BS while standing in a creek. The 2 coils are plenty strong.

What’s the difference between the newer CDRs and the old ones? I was the highest bidder on 2 of these at $55 IIRC at the national last year.
Crap. With my new phone, I can’t upload some pics.

Shakey, they don't make CDRs anymore WCS is making a copy and the springs weaken after hard use.

Thanks, I don’t think I’ve ever handled a new style.
I got a bit more info on them. I believe mine are 1st gen. Certainly nothing wrong with the old models if strong is what you want. I’m glad they’re laminated to spread the pressure around.

Two of the best selling beaver traps on the market were designed from the ground up by Tim Sawatzky. They are the MB 750 and the TS 85. It is no small task to build a trap from scratch.

After the TS 85 came out, other new traps hit the market utilizing the same dogless pan design that is such a well liked feature of the TS 85.

Tim S certainly deserves credit for his design skills and workmanship on both of these beaver traps, which are in widespread use by beaver trappers across North America.

Big fan of No BS Beaver Xtreme 4 coil regular jaws. Did not have any sprung empty traps this spring. Great lock up. If it was sprung, there was a beaver waiting on other end.

I’ve fallen in love with the Duke 850 for beaver. I removed two springs to make it more user friendly and haven’t had any problems holding beaver.

For the brawn, you use the rubber jawed ones? The only other ones I’ve seen are the off sets. Never thought of using those big tanks for beaver….but I’d way sooner get something cheaper that’ll hold just as well….lol.

Following this thread. Looking to try to trap our first beavers this year in footholds. Hope to buy 1/2 dz traps or so to start with

Don’t over think it too much, any #3 or #4 size trap works fine if you set them in the right spot. Good call on the belisle 330’s

Bridger #5 dogless with 2 springs removed and TS85s are my go to's. I do have 1 MB750 that I use and it catches beaver but I hate the way they operate.

MB 750 for me. Love the no loose jaw design and power to push through mud and sand when trap gets silted in on river line.
