I’ve got one coming up. I stressed Vegas and we’ll pay the whole thing, but his family doesn’t have passports…..lol. Probably wind up in the Alberta Rockies for a small wedding and we’ll probably wind up footing most of the bill. His side doesn’t have much spare cash…..which is why Vegas would be awesome.
No $10000 dress though! No flipping way!

Have one daughter. I didn’t want to be bothered with the hassle of everything so gave my wife my checkbook with an idea of budget. She hired a wedding planner. One of the best decisions I ever made.

Daughter paid for her dress. We covered everything else associated with the bride family responsibilities. We have a lot of family and friends, so did my son in law. We didn’t put many limits on them.

Everyone had a blast.

My two sons got married and I was in charge of reception dinner and booze. Both combined was less than what I spent on my daughters but would do it all over again.

A girl that my son knows...Bought 2 wedding gowns at a thrift store..5.00 each !!

And she didn't even have them dry cleaned !!

Just hung them outside for a couple weeks...lmao

didn't read all the replies, but we set a budget for her. her choice on how she spent it, but the number was the number.

anything above that was the bride and groom's expense.

Self uniting ceremony aka Quaker marriage. Chuckie and I paid a license fee and my mom and aunt were witnesses. We had KFC and champagne.

Weddings are an absolute racket. I sure hope everything goes well and I’m sorry I can’t advise further.

Ashley, we had our reception (small wedding; about 50 people) in my parents' brand new garage. Penn State game on a small tv in one corner; for the Die Hards!

good to see you posting again!
