Good insight Shakeyjake.

A great book along those lines is “The Clever Coyote” written in 1951 By Young & Jackson

This is the 1978 printing cover.

This is the most comprehensive book on coyotes I have ever seen.

Part 1 is written by Young and takes a very detailed look at the history, life habits, economic status, and control of the coyote.

This is the main body of work and is well over 200 pages long.

It is a goldmine of great information. The table of contents in part 1 is staggering.

Part 2 by Jackson takes an in depth look at the biology side of things.
Detailed classifications & comparisons of subspecies are covered in great detail.

Young’s got an old 2 book series on wolves too.
Ordered, thanks for the heads up!

Found another copy of the big fur bible for $180USD too!

I agree with TEJAS about Mr Lucero’s book, one of if not the best coyote book out there.
Especially if you can find his “snare lines across the west” book, but last I talked to him he wasn’t printing any more snare books
