We had a guy just like that around here. Drove an old tractor with no cab and you would think he was homeless by his looks. Died a millionaire.

When i was in grade school in the early 60's just about every day an old flat rack truck would drive by with a handful of cedar posts on it always felt sorry for the old guy Later in life i found out he owned close to a 1000 acres of land His son inherited everything and if you talked to him he made it clear how successfull he was nothing like his father Thanks 330 great pic

I remember seeing a crime show where an elderly lady never married. She owned many rental properties. Had no money in a bank, kept all her cash hidden in her house. She hired a handy man as a maintenance man for her properties. One day she was found murdered which later turned out to be by her handyman. She always paid him in cash. When he realized she had all this cash in her house. He killed her and stole as much money he could find.

The day of her murder, he moved away. That's how he became the prime suspect. When they arrested him he had a couple hundred thousand dollars in his possession. They later found much more money hidden in her home.

One of my brothers bought a house just before it would have been sold for unpaid taxes after the old lady died three years earlier with no heirs. Neighbors assumed she was dirt poor.

MY brother discovered $150,000 cash dating back to the 50's hidden all over the place. She was also a hoarder, you could barely walk around in the place.

When I was younger in my teens we had a fella up on the mountain Mr.Bowden was his name had a lot of land lived in a shack no electricity or running water he did have a old car and it constantly broke down on him either on his way to town or home and one day I gave him a ride home with his groceries had to let him out at his gate cause no one was allowed on his property man did he stink I cleaned on my ol truck forever to get the smell outta it long story short he died his son inherited everything did a big deer hunt on the property for his buddies and they killed some dandies then he had the property logged and sold it off in lots he became very wealthy and died a miserable person goes to show ya money ain’t everything cause his daddy was more of a MAN than the son
