Anyone ever use them, I tried them on a fishing rod instead of their traditional way
I was fishing for trout so I cheated and used toothpicks

They work just like an earth anchor
My bait choice was not traditional either, but it's what I've been catching them on

Hindsight I should have made little barbs to hold the power bait on better
I found it very difficult to let a fish take line and not set the hook. They have to swallow it so it can set in the throat
It took over an hour and half a jar of bait, but I caught one small rainbow

I wanted to add another survival tactic to the things I'm teaching the grandsons
Cordage is next on the list, I found some rather tall thistle that I have permission to cut

Open to suggestions on ways to improve this technique
