Otis is bringing skunk boards with him, along with a PILE of ‘cat stretchers, and I’m sure others

He is also working on a chainsaw carved bear for the scholarships/endowment fund auction

Otis builds some of the nicest natural and log type furniture there is, bar none.
It’s always in demand, snd he’s usually behind a bit, which is typical of craftsmen of his caliber.
We get lots of compliments on the pieces we’ve got in our home that he’s built over the years.

It just sucks that I’m only there for a few days. I could easily spend a couple weeks in Wyoming/Montana area!

For sure, lots of cool things to see, off the beaten path

We’re less than 3 weeks out now, and I’ll be putting together the demo list with days and tunes in next day or two.

Also, if anyone has a fur coat or fur accessory they’d like to wear, or maybe lady friend would wear in the fur fashion show, feel free to bring it !

We’ve got a good selection, and always have some new ones coming, but we welcome everyone to wear ‘their’ fur if they want to too

If you still need to get a motel room, I wouldn’t wait any longer! This is when they really start to fill up fast

Have a great Sunday,

John

Hoping for good weather. Humid as heck here these past few days and in the 90s.

It may get hot in Eastern Wyoming but the humidity should be low. I never liked humidity when I lived back East.

Currently 88 degrees and 12% humidity

We’ve seen every weather condition possible for August, but typically in 80’s to 101 degeees

We are gonna take advantage of shade and possibly fans in the heat of the day.

The one thing about Wyoming, though, it does cool down at night, because we almost always get a breeze to bring in cooler temps

Mornings are usually fairly comfortable, it’s the afternoons that get hot usually

We’ll do what we can to make things work out

As long as it’s dry. I now know that when they say “but it’s a dry heat” it holds truth. Did a hike I thought I’d be regretting last summer in the Badlands when the vehicle temp said 106F. It’s so dry, your sweat actually cools you off in the breeze, lots of water was a must though.
Was 87 here yesterday with high humidity. Drank lots of water but after about 6 hours of cutting trail, hauling in wood and building a tree stand, we hit a wall and shut er down. We had to finish the windows and shingles this morning.

90 95 degrees with 12 percent humidity is a piece of cake . And like John says it cools down faster generally in the evening.

I'm getting excited. Hopefully I'll be there in time to see Keith do his demo. That alone is worth the drive

OK, that is the tentative demo list for this years event!

As you will see, we have demos on the hour, EVERY hour, non-stop, continuing through the day, in Coyote Days tradition and fashion

Most attendees wait and anticipate for this for a whole year, and we will put on the best fast paced, informative weekend possible!

All of the demo presenters are approachable and easy to visit with throughout the weekend, and our common goal is to provide and share as much practical and hard earned knowledge as can be packed in to a 2 day gathering of like minded people.

There will be food available in the building from 6 a.m. until about 5 p.m. both days, so there will be an opportunity to grab a quick meal between demos if you wish. Also, Water, coffee, iced tea, soda, etc)

We utilize about 1/3 of our indoor space (air conditioned) for tables for people to sit and visit and eat if desired.

We have options on outdoor demo spots, so we will play it by ear on the weather

Again, to answer a few questions that new attendees might have:

Cost to attend the 2 day event is $20/person for 18 and over (buy a wristband at front desk inside building at south end of grounds)

Banquet Tickets can be bought at front desk for $25/person (no reservations required)

Unlimited primitive camping on north end of grounds (fairgrounds charges a nominal fee on honor system) Showers & Bathroom there

10 electric hookups for campers at North end of grounds, along fence

We're only 2 WEEKS AWAY!

Remember, on August 15th & 16th, all tracks lead to Lusk WY

Thanks, John

Well, we try to pack in as much as possible in 2 days, taking in to consideration traveling expenses and vacation time.

I’m considering a 3 day event next year….

3 days! In their advanced age, I don't know of Todd, O.D. and Brandy can handle that much excitement.

If the long range forecast is right the temps are going to be very favorable.
