None 99% of the time, if I know where the burrow is. Cabbage seems to hold up well.

if you have the opportunity to use Mr Jamisons woodchuck gland lure its incredible the response you get and that with some eye appeal is the go to
if you plan to use a cage cover the screen on the bottom with grass clippings or dirt cuz chucks have toes on the pads of there feet and can sometime be a bugger

If not, comstock cage trap with a nosecone over the active burrow.
