I was wondering about that place (based on width of stream). Ran into an advertisement somewhere for it recently. That's a feeder stream that runs into the river there. Never over look feeder streams. He was hiding under a big log and came out and nail that hellgrammite

While I was guiding in western Alaska we would catch bows in the 5-7 lb range regularly. A few in the 8-9 lb range. These were all fast water fish, not big bellied lake fish. the rainbows that are in the great lakes are more what I suspect you'd call "fast water fish" even tho they live in a lake. Pictures for ref. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/DyXjVktR/sheb-river-007.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/wBCChvHx/DSCN1771.jpg) I never weighted my fish. I measured length, the average size was about 20-25" in length. Biggest one I saw was a little over 30". Nice rainbow OP, how big of a river did that come out of?

Really nice fish, Bigbuck! This fish is not close to 8lbs, but has spent its entire life in a river. 23 1/2 inches

Great fish you got there and I would not mount one either. That looks really healthy and fat, must be some good food for them in that creek. I see a small bass under you right hand in the first photo......jk

I once caught a rainbow that was close to 3 pounds and thought that was huge. But, yours is a monster! Congrats!
My new car has a button for pretty much everything. Even has one that says rear wiper. Still too afraid to try that one.
