Been looking for a while for a older Toyota. Hard to find in my area but was surprised to find one about 4 hours away and I bought it. Needs some attention and paid to much but way less then a side x side and will fit my needs better. I have asked a few people here that have them and no one will part with there Toyota's. Interior is great no cracks in dash roof liner door panels and no rust in excellent shape. Needs tires and CV boot are tore but still decided to buy for 8K. I know to much but I will be able to sell it at some time if I want to. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/08/full-23688-265952-img_6722.jpg)

if it has the 22 re motor and IF I could rember the phone number I used at the parts stores I have a lifetime warranty on about every part on that truck. Looks identical to the one I had and it was and still is the best value of a vehicle I have ever bought. I drove that truck like it was a 4 wheeler and pulled with it like I thought it was an F 250. ( young and not knowing any better at the time) bought it with a touch over 100k miles for $3,750 and breaks so bad I didn't drive it 100 feet( why I got it cheap) Back then I still had to get a loan for it. Sold it after 7 years of hard use with around 320k on it. Should have never sold it but I just didn't want to fix whatever had brok on it at that point and was not using it.
how many miles are on it?
I would really go over the frame looking for rust. Nothing like having yout truck turn into a dump truck holding it together with ratchet straps is not fun. Cousin had this on his 79.

Nice ride I like the old style and size more than the newer models. When I bought my 2018 I thought this isn’t the Toyota I was thinking of, yours was.

I was talking to a guy the pther day about these trucks. He said a while back he had some work done on his truck and the mechanic showed him an older Toyota truck. It had 650K on it and engine has never been touched. The mechanic does this guys oil change etc.. on that toy for years. Lol

Mint! Thing should go forever too. Buddy of mine bought an old Suzuki Side Kick (not safetied so no highway use) for cheap. Tossed off-road plates on it so it’s treated like an ATV and that’s his SxS now……lol. Heat/AC, cab, storage in the back, hitch, winch, smaller than some SxS. Pretty neat.

That's a good truck plus it's all set up with a hunting decal. Yep, I forgot to ask the guy about hunting decal, there is a fishing decal on other side.

frame ok? some models were notorious for frame rot. I have an 05 Taco with 220,000 miles on it. Frame is completely gone. Otherwise I’d still drive it. Just dropped the insurance on it the other day. Not sure what I’m going to do with it.

boss man's had what over 750k? if my memory is correct when he gave his away. 726,000+ 2000 model V-6 5spd 4wd with lockout hubs. The guy that I gave it to fixed it up nicely. New rear bumper, new windshield, new tires, and other aesthetic stuff. Still runs great. I like the looks of yours. What year is it?

1994 with 160K. I think I remember your thread about your Toyota with all the miles. Wow, Paul that is amazing!! I had a 94 that color. I put 224,000 on it before I gave it to my son. Dad passed and I got his 95 in 1997 and put 529,00+ on it. Getting the 95 is why I gave the 94 to my son.

I had the exact color truck with extended cab. Mine was a 1992 and had the 3.0 and was a 5-speed. The head gasket blew when it had just 80k miles. I was on my way to pick up a new hound. Toyota replaced the whole engine under a recall notice. Drove it for another 3 or 4 years and sold it with close to 200k on it for what I gave for it.

I find it strange how the auto/truck industry stopped making the mini trucks but pumped out V8 trucks over the years like they were tone deaf to what folks wanted. I heard it had something to do with some MPG ratio the small trucks messed up for them is why they phased then out..

I heard it had something to do with some MPG ratio the small trucks messed up for them is why they phased then out.. I feel the same at times about them not making cheap easy to work in(room to get to things) 4x4 trucks. RADIO, Ac, heat and maybe cup holders and bucket seats. Then a reall fantacy about being factory equipped with winches front and back lockers ect. something you can take to the car wash and presher wash the interior out without problems. BUT then I remember few people really want that, and most trucks are a grocery getting machine and won't hall or do truck work. Heck even guys that use their trucks want the bells. So I can't blaim the compan for making what sells.
