Large part of it is I'm just plain negatively boyant....which some people just refuse to believe I had ..... 8-10 different people swear they negatively boyant wasn't a thing....thill they hand me lay on my back while holding me up......then I just sunk and sat on the bottom . My wife cannot understand it to save her life. Remember reading something that a lot of black people have high bone density or something idk.. reason you don't see a lot of black guys in the seals or other SF
I think a lot of human boyantcy (sp?) is due to percentage of body fat. I have very little fat , and are not that boyant. It is more of a specific gravity thing , do you have a specific gravity above or below water density ?
I worked with a guy who was crazy about diving. He lots of certifications for all types of diving.
One thing I learned from him was the use and need for diver's weight belts to counteract your boyantcy. A trim person might only need 10lbs of weight. A larger person , 20-30lbs. Much bigger people start to wear 2 weight belts. Very huge people get 2 fully loaded weight belts , then they attach large weights to your air tanks. They could have 100lbs total in weights.
My friend who was the dive master for many outings due to his experience , checked everybody over before a dive. He would ask people how much they weigh to properly counter weight the size of the person. A lot of people lie about their weight , but get into the water , the water doesn't lie. You are properly counter weighted or you bob like a cork.
