I was starting this for fun and a good source of information. List one Lure and one Bait (full names) for coyote and bobcat that are your go to items in your trap bag and also the State you are from. This will help a lot of us out who are contemplating new baits and lures to try.

Missouri

Coyote: Caven's Gusto and Leatherwood Creek's Top Dog

Bobcat: Apple Road Bobcat Plus and Dunlap's Time of Death Mouse Meat bait.

MO

Both coyote and bobcat

Hiawatha valley and gusto

Wisconsin

Dobbins bait solution (with skunk) and aged beaver meat

Minnesota. Coyote. Hiawatha Valley and Violater 7. Bobcat. A big pile of beaver carcasses and a blind set.

Maryland

Coyote: Caven's Yodel Dog; Hawbaker's Fox & Coyote Bait

Ogormans Powder Riverpaste and Junes or lennons fox lure.
Michigan

John Graham’s Cat Creek and a squirt of quality fox urine for both. Nothing else needed.

Iowa

Smoked meat scraps.

I kept very tight records the 25 years I trapped coyote so I could objectively figure out lure & bait catch per set ratios. There are years where this fluctuated and lures and baits that were on top sometimes dropped and others took their place but my answers are an overview of those years.

Coyote:
11/1-11/14- Pros Choice(Carman’s); Widowmaker Bait(June)
12/1-1/1- OLL-CC mixed 50/50 Missouri Breaks; Coyote Creek Bait (O’Gorman)
Cats:
Blind Sets

Central Michigan

Hiawatha valley and gusto

Or

Powder River and wind walker

Both those combos will flat get results if you do your part.

Keg Creek S.S. lure.

I'm in Montana but have only used it in Idaho.

I've had great results with Hiawatha Valley as well, but I recently ordered a new jar and the texture/consistency is more liquidy than my old jar and it looks a little different as well. It still smells mostly the same though. It's been several years since I bought a jar and my old jar with the old label is more of a paste and not runny at all. Did he change something?

Is there somebody with this year’s O”Gorman’s catalog that could tell me if they still make Coyote Creek Bait? If it’s been discontinued, it’s counterpart is Eshe’s Horse Whisperer II Plus.

Keg creek showtime bait and a little dunlaps hellfire lure has been a good winter combo for me for both species.

Being limited to live traps for trapping with exception of Koro's, in WA, go to bait is Beaver and personal preference for lure is either Caven's Gusto or Locklears Cat Collector

I'd rather use 2 lures and no bait. i hardly ever use bait.
