Hreat photos thats a different kind than we have in N C These are either female or immature Ruby-throated. Should be the same as what you have.

I have two feeders out for them and they drain them twice a week !! Can sit out and watch and listen to them for hours
Only one thing, I cannot keep praying mantis's away from them, have pics of them taking them down and being all over the feeders
I like the Manti's just don't like them bothering the birds,, any one else have this problem ?? My feeders hang from coated trapping wire about a foot down from the eave of the porch. Never saw a mantis on one. Many mantis are in the field next to the house. Would love to see a picture of you could post one

We have one feeder out and the drain it every other day now. Lots of hummingbirds here this year, more than in years past. I think they are swarming here getting ready to leave, but the numbers started increasing a few weeks ago. We had several all summer but nothing like now.
