To me it's just an ego trip for the most part. My way makes me a better hunter.... or it adds more competition to "my hunting". A guy with a vertical bow will use food plots, game cameras, lease ground and buy all kinds of the newest technology or equipment to make it easier to kill a deer then complain because a crossbow is "too easy" . Cry me a river.....

I’m a total idiot and green horn. If I can take a deer swiftly and legally with a compound bow, anyone can!

I feel like recurve is a definite possibility

Good on you. My wife is 5'3 135 lbs and I'd bet she's killed more buck with her compound then most of the crying xbow hunters on here.

Nice smash.

Recurve is nice, gotta practice a lot more than with a super easy compound. What with being training wheels and all.

lol. Just kidding. Glad you are out bowhunting with what you want.

Hope you get a nice mess of deer this year.

Absolutely. Some just forever what it’s all about. Being in the outdoors and enjoying time with family and friends.

That being said, plenty of folks are irresponsible and uneducated about even rifles. So I guess case closed. Legal is legal no matter how many people screw things up…

My uncle shot at multiple running deer his first year using his crossbow. Unfortunately, that’s the type of hunter I associate with that equipment.

You got the first part right! lol. Not crying, stating my opinion. There's a difference. I have facts to back up my opinion. Reread original post.

It can happen to anyone. But what you said is true... the mentality that they have a rifle because there's a scope and nothing to draw/ hold back and a rock solid rest leads to a lot of wounded deer. I've seen it a lot in PA

well the issue was here that they made it too stupidly hard to get the class B

so first it was 65 and older

then they realized 50% of guys over 50 have rotator cuff issues.

and kids

and little women good for the sport to keep them involved.

and in part of the state they just plane need more deer dead

so to avoid the issue that Government is , getting government out of the way is the answer.

so while I don't own a cross bow , I like them , I like what they can do , I like it as an option without government involvement.

and if you feel the need to make it harder on yourself , go for it.

but where I hunt they are giving me 5 doe tags with my buck tag this year so chooootem

I would make a good argument that bow hunters don't kill enough deer per hour in the woods so in counties issuing 3 or more doe tags we should just make muzzleloader season start and run with archery.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

But he has facts Yes Sir. Well he has one study that supports what he wants to believe. So there is that. No need to look further. He is happy with his training wheel bow.

Just so you know PA guy. I shoot a training wheel bow also. I plan to get a recurve though. My boys shoot recurve. And when they can draw 30# they will probably hunt with one.

I personally don’t use a crossbow, not my thing. But I don’t have any issue if someone else uses one.
