This may be a dumb idea and a dumb question but have any of you set out to deliberately snare skunks?

I was building coyote/cat snares this afternoon and reflecting on what I’ve deliberately snared over the years. Fox, coyote, bobcat, coon, beaver and otter. Never snared a mink or muskrat or marten. Incidentally snared badger in fence crawls. Never snared a skunk.

I began to wonder about the possibility of snaring skunks. Perhaps with some six inch drain pipe, a snare on each end and some sweet bait inside. Sweet bait to keep the landowner’s cats out of the snares.

Your thoughts? Experiences?

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

I think it would work if you made a small snare because people snare rabbits and they are about the same size.

Loving every day as it comes.

X2 I used to run my coon snares 6" off the ground to avoid skunks and possums, rabbits, squirrels, ect... but if you run your snares low, you'll catch skunks,,, badgers too if they are in the area. It would be a good use of those old coon snares that no one really uses anymore. No one is going to worry about a snare mark on a skunk hide, plus they really don't fight the snare to cause any really noticeable damage.
