and the 5.56 isn't going anywhere, it's a NATO cartridge and theres millions of rounds out there, the "improved" rifles and rounds need only go to spec ops, SEALS etc....

Let's be honest.... The creed is hear to stay , is about as popular in as the .308 , you can find about as much if not more I've seen ammo for it right next to the .308. it's not some miracle round...but it works ..I mean it just plain works .
And if you wanna do trh whole argument about ,its the same as the .260 or the sweede....well in that case if it's the same it's just as good and it's easier to find and get so crazy

Yep, had the creedmoor or 6.5 probably was around when I had my 260 built I would have gone with one of them Due to availability. If I ever need to get my barrel set back( cut off 1/2" on the breach end and rechambered when shot out saving the cost of buying another barrel) I will have it chambered in one of them. Probably cm since I dont have a place to shoot over 500 yards any more and it will be cheaper to shoot and do all I need.

6.8 spc probably resembled the 7.62x39 to much anyway if this new supergun doesn't survive actual battle conditions hopefully there will be a few AK's layin in the mud they can use

The bottom line is they need a rifle cartridge to poke holes in people, not kill them poke holes. The federal government should keep it simple to save the taxpayers money so the politicians can squander money we don’t have on useless programs that pee us all off.

Well better knock down power was issue during the GWOT. Talked to a few vets from Ramadi and the like who said they like the light weight of the 5.56 ...but when you have a Iraqi hopped up on various things they found that they would want something with more punch then 5.56 because yeah you can poke 10 holes in a dude but that doesn't mean the drugs in his system are gonna let him stop

I mean we could do what is allowed in some special deals where they use something like an open tipped match...but Geneva convention.....

So a 6.5 cm has better knockdown power than a 7.62 nato? I say bull crap.

wolfdog best part is we didnt sign the Geneva convention.

line jumper cm has less energy due to less bullet weight but also less recoil, and more velocity, flatter trajectory, less wind drift, and deeper penitration due to sectional density.

Has less drop and wind drift than a 300 win mag at 1000 yard and with less recoil than a 308.

Then 5.56.

Now it can be argued that it holds its energy better over distance, the bullet diameter is more efficient...you know the whole 6.5 Sweden has been killing moose in Sweden for 150 years argument..... But yeah within 200yd of course the bigger diameter bullet of the same construction and all that ...will have more knock down power
