I saw this at the GA convention today. He said it can be used with cage traps and footholds. Hopefully he'll get registered and talk about this. I found it interesting. He also said there is going to be more innovative products coming in the a couple of months.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

If it's the outfit out of Marietta, they've been around for about a decade or more now. They contacted me about that long ago. Had a really nice conversation, but they sounded kind of surprised when I shared my conversation with the DNR about having clients do the check and call it in to me or the use of electronics. I was asked who's name is on the trap, and it had to be an eyeball check. Well, they must've got to work twisting arms because within months electronic checks were cleared.
Thanks Paul for the information, Wisconsin is in the middle of the debate regarding technology use for trap checks. And while there are advantages to using technology, there are also drawbacks, like costs, and also concerns of its abuse.

Hardly a debate, it's a free for all to use trail cams to monitor traps without spelled out standards until the NRB approves some regulations. Will be interesting to see what comes of the meeting next week. Even if it was cleared this summer when it was first brought up, it wouldn't have gone into effect until next year. I have a handful of cell cams I plan to deploy to help get my bobcat this fall.
I wonder if an angry coon could get an arm through the side of the cage trap and mess with the unit.
I dont know how ADC stuff works, but for fur trapping today idk what the price would hafta be to cancel gas/time. But it also would stop the main fun of trapping-do I have a catch. Technology sucks. Hope it fails.

I tend to agree with this. Half the fun for me is walking up and having the anticipation of seeing whether or not I have a catch. But to each their own, I don't knock a person for how he or she checks their traps.

They have been around for a while. For limited amount of specific work they have their place. For a considerable size trap line I fail to see the cost justification for the investment. It will help contribute to an already lazy nation to become even more so.
Those into new technology may find it interesting but once again as stated will they be legal to use for what they are made to do generally speaking.
