We hunt private land and one of the bozos who has permission decided to invite his girlfriends uncle. Like we need more pressure in such a small tract of land…
Well ,said “friend” went to check cameras today and found his new hunting buddy clad in camo and toting a loaded crossbow. He said “what are you doing?! Season doesn’t open until Oct 4!” The dude said no man it’s statewide!!! No sir….only in select WMU’s.

These morons are out and about with a hunting license and don’t even know how to read the hunting digest and interpret laws and seasons. Time to pack up outta there before I get killed

I have a friend of mine who is a new hunter. She got permission on a family members property in PA. She said, oh, I asked if you could come hunt too and they said sure…

lol.

Had to explain to her about inviting folks to hunt and etiquette surrounding it.

I politely said no, that wouldn’t be good manners and wouldn’t be a good idea. Especially since she just got permission.

Now if they asked her if she had someone she wanted to invite or something, that’s different. But, you can’t go inviting people when you yourself just got permission. Bad form.

I agree but being new she may be a little nervous going out on her own. You didn't say if the family members lived on the property or not but if not she may not feel comfortable heading out to the woods alone. I myself prefer to hunt alone but I know some (both men and women) that won't go unless they've got someone to go with them.

She hunts alone around here on property she is familiar with. But this would be a place she has never been and would be nervous in a new area. So wants someone with her. She was also just being nice knowing I have gotten her on property here. She is just really nice so didn’t think it could be a faux pas in the regular hunting community.

You got a point....Worked with them in the farm fields growing up....I can cuss with the best of them, thats been the biggest benefit.

You have 3 choices:

1) call the GW and let him educate the poacher.

2) do nothing and let the poacher cheat....while you sit home and wait on season to open.

3) do either 1 or 2 and find somewhere else to hunt.
