These little devils are starting to show up around here. My wife bought a trap that says it's for Japanese Beetles. I put it together and it has yet to catch a single beetle. Are Asian Beetles and Japanese Beetles different?
Is there a good trap to catch these pests?

Asian beetles are yet another pest from China. They are distantly related to our more beneficial lady bugs. The Japanese beetle traps won't catch them. The Japanese beetle traps have artificial Japanese beetle pheromones for catching Japanese beetles.

My take is Japanes beetles emerge for the ground, in June or July to eat plants and mate. Asin beetles feed on aphids and look like ladybugs. But swarm to buildings after a few cold days in the fall, when it warms up.Perrethin spray around doors and windows and open spots around your house. They both are a curse

Yep we have soybean crops all around us and they are really getting thick. When we have soybeans we really get them.

They’re another gift from the California hippies. Thought introducing an invasive species to fight aphids on soybeans was a greener way….

I would like to send a box of about 10,000 to whoever brought them over on purpose. Bite, stink, get in the house, leave brown trails, etc.

Found a DIY method on google. Take a good sized aluminum pan. Fill it with water. Squirt some dish soap in it. Mix it around. Next, put a light above the pan overnight. The next morning you will have a mess of dead beetles. The soap clog their pores and they die.
