I pulled the trigger on a suppressor 9/30 , yes a little to beat the Jan 1 rush , yes I paid the tax stamp

I took care of all the stuff at the kiosk at the area store after calling silencer shop talking with them and ordering .

it is quite easy, the finger printing is a little repetitive it keeps asking for this finger then that finger I think I did them all like 3 times but then it was happy.

remember to bring your user name and password with when you go to do the kiosk

the dealer with kiosk had a tablet that they used to take my "passport like " photo

everything was submitted , they thought 2 weeks it will be interesting to see what it will be.

the can is a Rambling Man 46cal
it is a 2 peice can with a 5 inch main can and a 3 inch addition to make it quieter
also as a 46 cal , it will fit the 45-70 it is going on now and if I change the mount can go on my 308
the can is rated to 300RUM but not rapid fire
the goal being send some 400-500gr bullets 1050fps quietly with some real authority.

on the 308 I wouldn't shoot subs so it is a noise reducer and not that important to have maximum efficiency

A suppressed 45-70, that makes the traditionalist in me cringe.

But, I hope it works for you. Sounds interesting.

Please keep us updated. I've had a couple buddies recently who have gotten them and love them. They had a real easy process and quickly got them.

I am hoping it's one of my next "slush fund" purchases.

Not sure if I'd do a dedicated rifle or more like what you described and have the option of putting it on a few different ones.

I applied through the mail in June. Still waiting… heard the digital approvals go super fast! The 45-70 would be slick

45-70 is .458 so round up to 46

it will probably stay married to the 45-70 and I will get another later without the tax stamp but I expect there will be some delay right after the new year.
as well as a lot of demand and exactly what I wanted was in stock now.

well it didn't start very traditional either , Marlin 1895 Dark series
[Linked Image]

I had been thinking 1894 in 44mag , because I already load 44 and have a few, when this one showed up on the consignment rack basically still new but 5 years old total of 40 rounds through it.

the 1895 also 16 inch barrel , had the ability to go Wild to mild that 44 just can't get to that level of Wild or the weight availability .458 has for components.

so rifle , dies , brass ,bullets and now a can

there are
Traditionalist , purists , modernists , and all sorts of ists out there

I am a functionalist , my goal was big medicine , little package , options to go quiet.

the unfortunate thing is it appears the government shut down later today is going to put a hold on all NFA approvals

oh well in 2013 when they shut down the gov I had a trip planned to Gettysburg , we rescheduled the trip and ended up finding how much we liked costal SC instead

maybe they can keep the gov shut down till January and I won't have to pay for the tax stamp

Last month I think it was my latest one came back in 13 days on a trust. Its already been used on 2 deer so far.

I suspect the government shut down will make it take longer.

I get it, GCP. Not judging at all. I'm just wired traditional.

I'm honestly curious to hear how it works out for you.

Hope the shutdown doesn't delay it too long.
