I have several WCS Skunk Specials. I buy them on sale with a cover. I recently bought a Tomahawk 7x7x24 to compare it to the WCS. The first skunk I caught tore the pan from the trap and bent it upwards. I did not get the addon pan protector. The WCS comes with a pan protector built in as standard. The WCS comes with a cover which was an addon for the Tomahawk. The Tomahawk feels like a tank when you first handle it, but I will buy the WCS going forward. Also, the WCS come standard with the rear sliding door for baiting and animal removal. That is a different trap with Tomahawk.

I have a bunch of the WCS ones and am very pleased. No need for me to switch. Thanks for the heads up.

at WCS for $176 + $25 for shipping you get two WCS skunk specials with pan guard, trap cover, rear sliding door and a can of their skunk bait. Its not bad. $100/trap

at Tomahawk for $75.75 not sure on the shipping, you get a similar size trap with rear sliding door. Add pan protector for $10 and a cover for $28. Essentially $113/trap + shipping equipped like the WCS. The Tomahawk is built like a tank though, but do get the pan protector if you order it. I had a skunk bend the crap out of my pan on the first catch.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I have caught two skunks and both times the pan has been torn off the bottom of the cage.

Looks like they need to reinforce the pan MUCH better.
I'm not sure I have EVER had a skunk tear a pan off of any of my cages. Even with the cheaper made Havahart traps.
Now coon YES. I have seen big adult skunks work the doors on the cheapo made cages sold by some of local hardware stores(made in China).

They attempt to "up sell" a pan protector. Obviously this is a must have with this trap. I would expect this from a coon but not a skunk. Buyer beware.
