well, I had 4 bears shot by my bait from dog hunters, but still have a couple starting to come in two days ago,

they been coming in earlier every day last night was just before dark,

Nothing against the dog hunters but how do you compete with them. For them its easy to find the bears by knowing where all the bear baits are.

it's, not easy to compete with the dogs, but it is what it is, they came in right at dark last night, looks like wind will be right Wednesday night, I will shoot the first legal bear that i see, I want the meat

Never give your bait location away solves a lot of the people hunting off of your baits issues.

No dogs the first season (first week). Then its a free for all.

Unless you have a good chunk of private land, but you know "dogs can't read NO TRESSPASSING signs"

Warm weather gets them moving, they don't move much when the weather is cold, windy or rainy.

Bernie, any tricks to get them to eat dur the day,

I never baited, but maybe take the bait back home before dark. lol

Here I find the trick to having them eat during the day is to have your kids store bags of wheat in an outbuilding. Eventually they’ll bust the door jam and come back every night. Then you and your kids be away, leaving your wife at home alone and unwilling to shoot a problem bear. Then he’ll come in and she will send you a snap.

That always seems to work for me anyways.

That about sums it up!! You can also try sitting for 2-3 evenings and then take a night off for "meet the teacher night", usually guaranteed to be out during daylight.

If you're looking for tricks I'm afraid there aren't any. I hate say it but the main reason people have nocturnal bears in the first place is the location. Best to keep them from going nocturnal in the first place. Some other reasons explained in the videos below.
