Rob & Neall OP trapper Joined: Nov 2015 Eastern Shore, MD	Helped Neall pull his pots for the season which also coincides with the Nor’easter moving our way…pulled 200 pots…now he gets ready to oyster harvest.

He sells to a local buyer at the marina by the bushel basket….this time of year the prices are pretty low…season for commercial harvest ends December…most of the watermen in this area are switching over to oyster harvest.

coop trapper C Joined: Dec 2006 De	Rockfish and blue cats... he may know of others I don't. Most any fish on the bottom though will eat a blue crab if it can get it in it's mouth. I'm not a waterman but think I'm pretty close on this.

gcs trapper G Joined: Dec 2006 South shore L.I. N.Y.	I finished up mid September, wasn't a good season, again....switched to green crabs now. We've had invasions of summer dogs, (sand sharks) and rays that eat everything....never had that problem until about 3 years ago, which corresponds with the crummy blue crab season.

Very interesting book about the East shore of the Chesapeake Bay and the Choptank area in particular. Very interesting and informative book. It's historical fiction where they use fictional characters and historical facts. He goes in a lot of details about The Choptank River, Deal Island, Chesapeake pirates, oyster dredging, crab fishing and commercial duck hunting with old time punt guns before they were outlawed. For you readers out there I highly recommend this book. You can get them used from Amazon or new from your favorite book store. .
