Things are slow and the customer is close so I said sure. I plan to use some rat size snap traps and a couple cages, baited with peanut butter and bird seed.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

That’ll catch a lot of them! Be careful placing a rat trap in the open where non targets like kids and dogs may be attracted to them.

A chippie job can go on for ever as new ones move in.

Keep your snap traps covered and protected. You will catch lots of birds like wrens and other ground forageing birds in exposed traps.

Recently did a chipmunk job. I bought 6 of these. Positive set over their holes. I did well with them, only issue is cost. Purchased from Wildlife Control Supplies.

They say the pen is mightier than the sword, I’ve never taken a chipmunk with one though! Cool!

Weasel boxes with snaps works wonders. If you make them both ends open you can position them on the runs and catch doubles. Chippies will run edges along flower beds or foundations position the boxes there.
Steve Albano's trapline mole traps will work tucked into the burrow entrances. Small cages work better if wrapped.

I like using Chinese chestnuts. Catch 50-100 every year in my yard with this set up. Only non targets have been grey/red squirrel and mice [Linked Image]
